Indigo
I work with Indigo, a living dye, often incorporating encaustic, acrylic or mixed media. My approach is to coax the dye to dance upon the canvas or panel, manipulating the process to produce designs organically, letting the natural beauty of the Indigo speak for itself.

Indigo, Encaustic and Resin on Board. 14" x 14" 2016 ~Artist's Collection~ Focus on fluidity of movement during wax application allowed for a delightful emergence of form after the board enjoyed a lengthy interaction with the dye, which produced some of the deepest, richest indigo blues yet. The bold, strong depth of color provides the perfect backdrop for the 'figure' to dance upon.
Indigo with Resin on canvas. 12" x 12" The magnificent effects the indigo created within this painting are a wonderful confluence of dye, movement and the unpredictability of the moment.
Indigo on canvas. 30" x 40" I love freedom of movement within this painting. Drawing on my dance background, I translated artistic thought into fluid movement, allowing them to speak themselves into existence on my canvas. I relish the soft, gentle blues, balanced with the intensity of the bold white lines, a space where energy & serenity coexist in harmony.
